The Mousai

The Mousai, also known as The Muses, are goddesses who are sources of artistic inspiration for poets and performers. They are often mentioned at the beginning of Ancient Greek poetry and prayers. There are a total of nine, named Kalliopê (Beautiful Voice), Kleiiô (Make Famous), Eratiô (Lovely), Euterpê (Giving Delight), Melpomenê (Celebrate with Song), Ourianiê (Heavenly One), Polymnia (Many Hymns), Terpsikhorê (Delighting in Dance), and Thaleia (Rich Festivity, Blooming).
